A bit about the ‘evil eye’, or the ‘mati’, as it is called in Greek: Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye, usually by a person who is envious of you, will cause misfortune or injury often manifesting as a headache or unexplained illness. In order to prevent this from happening a blue eye or blue bead is worn to reflect the evil away and protect the wearer. In the most recent years the evil eye is not just a symbol of protection but also a fashion statement and has been seen worn by many celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Gigi Hadid.
